The 2020/21 Premier League was the 29th season of the Premier League, featuring 20 clubs competing across 380 matches between September 2020 and May 2021. Clubs battled for the league title, European qualification and survival in one of the world's most competitive football competitions. Manchester City were crowned Premier League champions, securing their third league title in four seasons under Pep Guardiola. Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane claimed the Premier League Golden Boot after scoring 23 goals, narrowly finishing ahead of Liverpool's Mohamed Salah. Kane also won the Golden Playmaker award after providing 14 assists, becoming the first player since Andy Cole in 1993/94 to finish a Premier League season as both the leading goalscorer and leading assist provider. Manchester City's Rúben Dias was named Premier League Player of the Season, while teammate Phil Foden won Young Player of the Season. Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson claimed the Golden Glove after keeping 19 clean sheets. The season was played under extraordinary circumstances due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with the vast majority of matches taking place behind closed doors and supporters only returning in limited numbers towards the end of the campaign. Manchester City established themselves as the dominant side after a competitive opening half of the season, while West Ham United enjoyed an outstanding campaign under David Moyes to finish sixth and qualify for the UEFA Europa League.
